Stop Snoring. Sleep Better.

The Pillar Procedure: Norwalk’s Preferred Treatment for Sleep Apnea

Part of the reason we live here is because our summers are nonpareil. This is the time of year when we relish the extra daylight, the wonderful temperatures and the vibrant buzz that comes with the season. However, staggering through the days, bleary-eyed and exhausted due to a horrible night of sleep can turn any season into a downer. If this sounds like you, not only are you a problem snorer, there is a likely chance you suffer from sleep apnea. At The Snoring Center’s Norwalk offices, we have helped thousands of patients find relief from sleep apnea…and, as a result, they are enjoying their lives (and especially the wonderful summer season) as they were intended to.

Sleep apnea occurs when the airway closes during sleep. The snorer stops breathing, sometimes for several seconds at a time. These episodes can occur several times an hour throughout the night. The preferred treatment for sleep apnea is Constant Positive Airway Pressure or CPAP and it involves wearing a mask attached to a machine that forces air into the airway to prevent it from collapsing during sleep. Here’s the rub. Many snorers can’t tolerate a night of sleeping with a CPAP mask. That’s why The Pillar Procedure, offered exclusively by The Snoring Center is one of the most popular treatment options for our patients suffering from sleep apnea.

The Pillar Procedure involves our board certified physicians inserting implants in the back of the throat to stiffen the soft palate. This helps the airway remain open and can provide ample relief to the snorer…not to mention the snorer’s sleeping partner. Of course, this is only one of the advanced procedures we utilize to fight the snoring battle. In as little as one hour, our physicians can diagnose, consult and treat the physiological cause(s) of the snorer’s specific situation. Our patients return to their normal activities immediately, with little-to-no side effects.

The procedures and treatments we offer include:

  • Pillar Procedure
  • Coblation Turbinate Reduction
  • Palate Coblation
  • RFA
  • Laser Tonsillectomy
  • Home Sleep Study
  • Oral Appliances
  • Snoring Surgery
